A taste of Winter Well-being, hmmmmm it's good!

There is a lot that determines a good well-being session and anything can draw you into a good session where you get to take a breath and settle into yourself for five minutes.

We rush about a fair amount yeah. So I was excited and quietly thrilled when Wellington Timebank approached me to collaborate on a workshop for their Wellbeing Series.

Two things, join the Timebank you get an exceptionally good deal on a lot of cool things happening in Wellington and the Hutt and it only costs $5 or $10 for a yearly subscription. They are different Timebanks but we all chat to each other. Separate subscriptions to each Timebank but totally cool stuff happening across the region.

Secondly, every year when the Timebank can, it runs a series of awesome workshops in August. I have attended some wonderful workshops over the years and finally contributed one as well. What a treat!

My workshop was based at the Brooklyn Community Centre on a stunning winter day with a lovely group of participants.

Lot’s of fun instruments to select from making silly sounds to intrigue and be responsive.

We explored the five steps to Well-being through a creative filter of Theatre, Storytelling and Music.

Step One: To talk and listen and to feel more connected.

Step Two: Give, your time, your words and your presence.

Step Three: Take Notice, Remember the simple things that give you joy.

Step Four: Keep learning, embrace new experiences, see opportunities and surprise yourself.

Step Five: Be active, do what you can to enjoy yourself, move your mood and find the joy in what you do.

Rowena from the Timebank provided us with some lovely cookies and Baron Hasselhoff donated Cacao for a richly creative experience.

Appreciation exercise. What do you appreciate in your partner, part of step two.

Play and relax, the perfect combination of finding yourself with music and with others.

Thank you to our participants, Wellington Timebank, Baron Hasselhoff, Brooklyn Community Centre. Rowena’s Family for patience and grace when we went over in our slow pack up.

Special appearance by a turtle friend, that all gave us much joy and a good laugh in the hands of his bud.
